Group Exhibition

Caring forms the foundation of human coexistence. This exhibition CARE MATTERS

focuses on existential areas of care work. Artists use objects to create a contemporary semiotic of the kitchen. They make care work—often invisible and performed under precarious working conditions—visible. They address motherhood in the context of the art world. Touching photographs of care for elders show intergenerational solidarity.

The show illustrates the artistic shift from the Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s to contemporary positions. The VERBUND COLLECTION‘s exhibition, curated by founding director Gabriele Schor, aims to contribute to the appreciation of care work, which is still predominantly performed by women.
