The exhibition After the City / Nach der Stadt views both rural and urban spaces as places of longing, projection, and refuge. Featuring more than 50 works by 18 artists, the exhibition explores how identity, power, space, and nature are constantly renegotiated when city and countryside are interwoven as two permeable systems. The close interplay—or even interdependence—between them is evident, for example, in agriculture and tourism, making Gut Kerkow a thematically fitting venue for this group exhibition. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and videos are displayed throughout the grounds in the Uckermark region, including the manor house, the former granary, and the newly landscaped garden. Selected Gut Kerkow satellite locations in Berlin serve as extensions to artistically manifest the connection between the metropolis and the countryside.
