The exhibition Fred Sandback – Negative Space at the Metropol Kunstraum is dedicated to a specific aspect of artist Fred Sandback’s multifaceted body of work. Known for his minimalist spatial drawings made of colored acrylic threads, Sandback explored the perception of space, line, and volume in a unique way. In the reliefs and prints on display, Sandback approaches the subtle relationships between surface, space, and perception ex-negativo using entirely different means.
